New Brunswick, New Jersey’s already vibrant and diverse restaurant, bar, and nightlife scene welcomes its newest addition. On January 7, 2011, propietor, Adam Zebib, opened the doors to New Brunswick’s first gastropub, The George Street Ale House.

A gastropub is a fast emerging category in the restaurant and bar industry gaining popularity throughout the world. Gastropub simply means a pub that serves high quality beer and food. The term itself originated in England. Public houses (pubs) in England classically labeled themselves as drinking establishments first, and put little focus into food. Gradually the food offerings at some pubs expanded, and their menus became more refined and eclectic…developing into what we call a gastropub today.

The George Street Ale House puts its own spin and brand on the gastropub concept. General Manager, Jon Angley’s passion for craft beer is unmatched in the area and it is reflected in the incredible draft & bottle beer selection. Chef Andrew brings his culinary artistry to the forefront as you taste thru a menu that is unlike anything you’ll find on the New Brunswick restaurant and bar scene.

I encourage you to not waste anymore time in visiting the George Street Ale House in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Besides the great food and great drinks, there is something going on every day and every night. From live jazz, to ufc fights, to karaoke, to classic board games (that’s right people…you can get into a heated game of battleship at the bar).

Last but not least, as soon as you walk in the door your welcomed with a smile. Everyone on staff shares the same passion and it ultimately creates warm, friendly, and comfortable atmosphere to spend some quality time with your friends, family, and a great beer!
